Creigh H. Agnew

As President of the Slade Gorton International Policy Center at The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR), Ms. Agnew manages daily operations and directs the long-term strategic planning, development, and programs of the Center.
She retired from the Weyerhaeuser Company after a 21-year career where she served as Vice President of Government Affairs and Corporate Contributions. In this role, Ms. Agnew was responsible for issue management and government relations at both the federal and state levels. Over her career, she worked for Weyerhaeuser in Washington, D.C.; Olympia; and at the corporate headquarters. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, she also served as sponsor of Weyerhaeuser’s Office of Corporate Contributions, the company’s philanthropic organization.
Before joining the Weyerhaeuser Company, Ms. Agnew was a legislative assistant, managing natural resource policy work for Senator Slade Gorton and Congressman Norm Dicks in Washington, D.C.
Currently, she serves on the advisory board of the University of Washington-Tacoma and is a member of the board of directors of the Association of Washington Business, the state’s chamber of commerce, and the Multi-Service Center of South King County. She also serves on the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board, appointed by Governor Christine Gregoire.
Ms. Agnew is a past chair of the Association of Washington Business and the Washington Council on International Trade, and served for five years as a director of Sterling Savings Bank.
She holds a BA in Communications and an MPA from the University of Washington. She also attended the Senior Managers in Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
