Daniel Rechtschaffen is a Publications Intern at NBR.
As an intern in the publications department, Mr. Rechtschaffen assists in the formatting, editing, and distribution of NBR publications. He is currently an MA candidate in China Studies at the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington, where his research focuses on environmental studies and media censorship in China.
Prior to joining NBR’s Seattle office, Mr. Rechtschaffen was one of the editors who launched Sixth Tone, a Shanghai-based news agency, as well as the Shanghai director for culture and lifestyle website, the Culture Trip. His work on China has appeared online in Forbes and in print by Oxford University Press, and he is a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow and Critical Language Scholarship recipient for Chinese.
