Tabitha Mallory

Tabitha Grace Mallory is Director of Corporate Relations and a Fellow in the Political and Security Affairs group at The National Bureau of Asian Research. As Director of Corporate Relations, she manages NBR’s relations with its Board of Directors and leads institutional development efforts.

Dr. Mallory specializes in Chinese foreign and environmental policy. She is currently conducting research on China and global ocean governance and has published work on China’s fisheries and oceans policy. Dr. Mallory is also an affiliate instructor in the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington. She previously served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Princeton-Harvard China and the World Program. Dr. Mallory has consulted for the United Nations Foundation, the World Wildlife Fund, the World Bank, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Dr. Mallory completed her PhD with distinction in International Relations at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also holds an MA in China Studies and International Economics from SAIS, a certificate in Chinese Studies from the Hopkins-Nanjing Center, and a BA in International Studies and Mandarin Chinese from the University of Washington.
