Sheila Mayer Charles
Sheila Charles is the Event Manager for the Center for Health and Aging (CHA).

As the Event Manager, Ms. Charles manages all logistical facets of NBR’s annual Pacific Health Summit, as well as a variety of workshops and meetings for the Center for Health and Aging. She also manages and advises other NBR events.

Prior to joining NBR, Ms. Charles was employed at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in the President and Director’s Office, where she worked closely with the Center’s leadership and Board of Directors on a variety of events and meetings. She also worked at MIR Corporation, organizing and managing custom group tours to Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, and at Marine Resources Company International, a former Russian-American joint venture based in Seattle, as an accounting specialist.

Ms. Charles received her M.A. from the University of Washington in Slavic Languages and Literatures. During her undergraduate and graduate years, she studied in St. Petersburg, Russia and Krakow, Poland and has traveled throughout Central and Eastern Europe. She maintains her ties to this part of the world by staying involved in Seattle’s Polish community and serving on the University of Washington’s Polish Studies Endowment Committee as a volunteer.
