Ariko Kimoto is a Senior Project Manager at NBR. |
As a Senior Project Manager, Ms. Kimoto develops, manages, and supports NBR projects and initiatives. Her responsibilities include assisting the Project Director in overseeing NBR research projects, coordinating with project team staff, and serving as liaison to Japanese constituencies. In addition, she manages the daily operations of NBR’s Japan-U.S. Discussion Forum, a public online forum with over 800 members, dedicated to intellectual exchanges on Japan-related issues. Ms. Kimoto has been with NBR since January 2005.
Prior to joining NBR, Ms. Kimoto has worked for the Japan-America Society of the State of Washington, People for Patty Murray-U.S. Senate re-election campaign, and as a monthly columnist for Eiken Times, The Mainichi Newspapers’ monthly news magazine「ニュースがわかる」, and for the University of Washington newspaper The Daily.
Ms. Kimoto received her B.A. from the University of Washington, Jackson School of International Studies. Her thesis focused on international arms control and non-proliferation issues from a Japanese perspective, conducted through interviews with former U.S. and Japanese Arms Control Ambassadors.
Ms. Kimoto brings event-, relationship-, staff-management experience as well as substantive knowledge in U.S.-Japan relations and fluent Japanese language skills. She is also currently studying Mandarin Chinese.
