The luncheon featured Congressman Norm Dicks, Governor Dan Evans, Senator Slade Gorton, and the Honorable Bill Ruckelshaus and was moderated by Sandra Archibald, Dean of the University of the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs (the Evans School) at the University of Washington in Seattle.

In attendance were elected officials, business executives, non-profit leaders, philanthropists, university students and professors, and military officers.

The Slade Gorton International Policy Center will be the living legacy of Senator Gorton’s extraordinary contributions to the Nation and Washington State. The Gorton Center will have three research priorities. First, the Gorton Center will incorporate and build on ongoing NBR initiatives to sponsor research in economics and trade, energy security, energy and the environment, and other important issues.
