Gorton Center Global Leaders
The Gorton Center Global Leaders met December 6 to hear from Flip Morse, Senior Vice President of Corporate Resources of Nintendo of America. Morse offered lessons in leadership from his extraordinary and diverse career, beginning with seven years as a rock musician, to graduating cum laude from Harvard Law School, to sixteen years as a Perkins Coie attorney, before assuming his current position at Nintendo 1n 2000.
The students gave high marks to his presentation, especially his emphasis on authenticity, instilling trust through ethics, and being willing to go outside their comfort zones to experience different aspects of life as keys to becoming successful leaders.
Upcoming GLP speakers include John Kelly, Senior Vice President Global Responsibility and Public Policy for Starbucks, and Christine Gregoire, former Washington State Attorney General and Governor, and now CEO of Challenge Seattle.
The students are now working on their Public-Policy programs that will occur in the Spring of 2017. Learn more about this year's outstanding group of Global Leaders.
