Amid a growing wave of digital and supply chain shocks, both the United States and Japan are working to enhance their economic and technological resilience and security. NBR’s recent report U.S.-Japan Technology and Economic Security: Achieving Resilience in an Era of Disruption examines the policy steps each country is taking, highlights areas of cooperation between the two countries and other Indo-Pacific partners, and provides deep dives into specific priority topics—financing the development of resilient digital infrastructure, enhancing cyber risk resilience, and developing measures to counter economic coercion. To examine these critical issues and more, NBR is convening a virtual event bringing together U.S. and Japanese experts to discuss the report’s key findings and recommendations. Please join NBR on Thursday, March 20, from 7:30–8:50 p.m. EST for an expert discussion featuring remarks by report authors overviewing key findings and recommendations of their chapters, followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.

Featured speakers include:

Michael Beeman, former Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Japan, Korea, and APEC

Yuichi Hosoya, Keio University

Saori Katada, University of Southern California
