While much in daily life has changed, at the National Bureau of Asian Research our commitment to helping you understand Asia remains the same. We are hard at work on original research that will inform the decisions of stakeholders in government, industry, and the nonprofit sector on the implications of COVID-19.

We are very concerned with the health and security of our colleagues, as well as you and your families, and are strongly encouraging practices that embrace social distancing and that seek to slow the virus’s contagious curve, especially for the most vulnerable of our communities. We have switched to conducting public and private events virtually, and staff members are working from home to keep NBR entirely operational. Our 30-year track record of engaging a global network of specialists positions us to operate effectively in the demanding high-content/low-contact environment in which we find ourselves.

On our website, you will continue to find analysis that will help you understand the emerging, strategic issues in the region. In addition to the free online content we always offer, we are removing the paywall on select publications.
