Opportunities and Challenges
Jong hyun Choi, Minister for Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Korea in Washington, D.C., visited NBR’s Seattle offices on December 1, 2009. Choi spoke about the potential economic benefits of the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) and obstacles to passage.
Since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1981, Choi has served in various overseas postings including the U.S., Australia, and Belgium and has been mostly involved in international trade matters.
The roundtable discussion with Minister Choi was sponsored by the Next Generation Leadership in Asian Affairs Fellowship Program as part of the Leadership Forum, a professional development program for NBR staff, fellows, and interns designed to cultivate leadership through a curriculum of seminars and discussion forums.
