Stateswomanship and Public Policy
Reflections on Leadership and Collaboration
On December 12, 2014, the Slade Gorton Policy Center at NBR joined with the William D. Ruckelshaus Center to host a panel on leadership and the collaborative policy making process with four on the most highly regarded stateswomen in the Pacific Northwest. The event was hosted by K&L Gates and featured Phyllis Campbell, Chair, Pacific Northwest, JPMorgan Chase; Jenny Durkan, former U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington; Chris Gregoire, former Washington State Governor; and Kim Wyman, Washington State Secretary of State. The panel was moderated by Kellye Testy, Dean of the University of Washington School of Law. Introductions were made by Slade Gorton, former U.S. Senator and Bill Ruckelshaus, former Deputy Attorney General and Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.
The sold-out event was attended by over 100 business leaders, non-profit executive, university students, civic leaders, and academics.
