North Korea's Escalating Human Rights Crisis
North Korea’s extreme isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic and new repressive laws imposed by the Kim Jong-un regime have created a dangerous information vacuum, obscuring the escalating human rights crisis on the Korean Peninsula. Cuts to international aid have further hampered efforts to monitor and address these abuses. This roundtable discusses the regional ramifications of this information gap and considers concrete policy options to improve international oversight and aid delivery.
