This NBR Special Report examines the strategies and policies of the United States and the Republic of Korea in the pivotal areas of battery technology, biotechnology, and quantum technology. By identifying the opportunities and potential benefits arising from deeper and broader U.S.-ROK collaboration, the report underscores the strategic imperative of enhanced bilateral cooperation and presents a comprehensive framework for advancing shared national interests. Experts from the United States and South Korea have collaborated on each chapter, first presenting the U.S. and ROK perspectives on a given topic, followed by a jointly authored conclusion with a set of policy options.
