The Rise of China, Challenges to Maritime Security, and the U.S.-Japan Alliance


On October 19, 2018, NBR convened a select group of academic, government, and business leaders to discuss China’s military modernization, its activities in the East China Sea, and the implications for the U.S.-Japan alliance. This roundtable discussion addressed how China affects U.S. and Japanese interests in the broader Indo-Pacific region.
